Design and Dimensions
The KM555 measures 104.9 x 52.6 x 11.9 mm and just weighs 90 g. It is aesthetically designed in keeping with LG’s tradition. It has a light catching metallic body , an almost mirrored finish that makes one want to caress it! It is available in three colors including black, silver and violet. It also has slim side buttons that jut out of the edges like ribs to offer volume, music, power and camera controls.Camera
The KM555 comes with a 3 Megapixel camera. However, it does not have flash. The picture quality is good and the camera allows users to take crisp photos and videos. It can speed-shoot up to nine shots at once and also offers a range of photo effects and adjustments. There is a dedicated camera key for convenience.
Basic Features
The new LG KM555 is a touchscreen handset that comes with a high speed 3G, a 3MP camera, music and video players, FM radio and Bluetooth. It comes with two unique features that are absent in most of the smart phones- multitasking and copy paste. It allows several applications to be run at a time. Also, it enables users to select portions of text from a web page and insert them in emails.
Interface: The interface of the phone is very simple and easy to understand. It comes wit an acelerator that allows auto rotation.
Phone Book: The phone book of the KM555 can store up to a 1000 entries.
LG KM555 Screen
The KM555 has a 3 inches diagonal TFT touchscreen but most of that is in length and not width. It supports up to 256K colors and its pixel resolution is 240x400 pixls. The screen allows movements that can be performed with only one finger like tapping, scrolling,swiping and pressing. This implies one has to use the scroll bar to zoom.
Keypad and Controls
The LG KM555 does not have a keypad and it takes time to get used to this. An onscreen QWERTY keypad appears when the phone is held in landscape mode. When in portrait mode one has to press each key continuosly to move to the letter options. As this takes a lot of time one can activate the T9. Also, a handwriting box enables one to draw out letters but this is not a viable solution either as the handwriting box is too small.
Audio
Music playback is one of the best features of the LG KM555. The speakers are good and it has Dolbi Presets. One can also enjoy music using the in-built FM radio.
Messaging
The KM555 offers easy to send SMS, MMS, Email and Push Email features. It has the virtual full QWERTY keypad and the standard keypad to allow users the choice to type in their messages in whatever mode they are comfortable in.
Media
The LG KM555 brings constant access to entertainment and puts multimedia options in ones fingertips. The MP3 feature of the phone is probably its best feature. It supports Dolby digital sound options. With the microSD card one can expand the memory considerably and turn the phone into a great MP3 player.
Also the phone's widgets allows one to manage the phone's features and makes it fun too. It also has some pre-loaded games like Tetris and SIMS3.
Internet
Web browsing in LG KM555 cell phone is not very good. It converts web pages into a more text based version that is tedious to scroll through. However, it has built in Social networking applications with Facebook, Twitter, MySpace. Apart from this they also have a built-in Google application that launches google search, Blogger, Gmail and You tube. Although it is not a 3G phone it connects to the Internet using EDGE. It is a quad band phone that is capable of supporting global roaming.
Storage
Its internal memory is somewhere around 40MB but has a 1GB Micro SD which is expandable up to 32GB.

The LG KM 555 is a quad-band GSM phone that supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900. It also features Bluetooth, A2DP support and a microUSB connectivity. It is fully compatible with GPRS and EDGE and WiFi technologies.
Usability & Performance
The call quality of the phone is reasonable . The music player is also great. The phone works well as a messaging device as it offers an onscreen QWERTY keypad. It also has a good battery life offering a 5.5 hours talk time and a standby time of up to 570 hours.

For a budget phone the LG KM 555 is quite good. It does not offer any great surprises but is an above average phone. Its USP is the WiFi and HSDPA.
